After the flight accident in Japan: Do Swiss, Air France and Co. have to rethink their safety videos?
The instructions on what to do in an emergency vary depending on the airline – sometimes serious, sometimes funny, sometimes unusual. The successful evacuation of the accident in Tokyo is now sparking a debate about it.
Tragic accident on January 2, 2024 at Haneda Airport in Tokyo: Before the Japan Airlines A350 burned out completely, the 379 passengers were able to get off the plane thanks to the help of the crew, although some were seriously injured.

The case could have ended in disaster. When two planes collided at Haneda Airport in Tokyo last week, five of the six occupants of the smaller Japanese Coast Guard plane died. But the 367 passengers and 12 crew members of the Japan Airlines Airbus A350 were able to leave the burning plane in time. Within just 18 minutes of landing. Theoretically, for the machine to be approved, evacuation must be possible in 90 seconds – even if only half of the emergency exits are available.
