Social giants are also taking a piece of the pie, Meta intends to allow users to create and sell NFT providers Investing.com

Yingwei Financial Investing.com-Facebook parent Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ: Meta Platforms) is working on plans to allow users to create, display and sell NFTs on Facebook and Instagram, people familiar with the matter said on Thursday.

According to the outlet, the Facebook and Instagram teams are working on a feature that will allow users to showcase their NFTs on their social media profiles. Additionally, the teams are developing a prototype to help users create new NFTs. Meanwhile, Meta plans to launch a trading platform that will allow users to buy and sell NFTs on it, the people said.

However, the people familiar with the matter acknowledged that these plans are still in the early stages, and many changes are still possible.

A few days ago, another social giant, Twitter, had already allowed its members to use NFTs as their profile avatars for their accounts.

In recent months, NFTs have become the hottest topic in the cryptocurrency space. An analyst at Jefferies pointed out in a report that as the market becomes more interested in NFTs, the bank has raised its NFT market value forecast to more than $35 billion in 2022 and more than $80 billion in 2025.
