Spain, inflation slightly decreasing in April 2024

The Spanish statistics office INE reported that in April the consumer price index increased by 0.7% compared to the previous month, in line with preliminary estimates. In March, the increase was 0.8%.

Analyzing the annual data, we note a growth of 3.3%, which confirms the first reading and shows an acceleration compared to the 3.2% recorded in March. As regards harmonized inflation, there was a positive variation of 3.4% on an annual basis, exceeding the 3.3% of the previous month. On a monthly basis, the figure marked an increase of 0.6% after 1.4% in March.
