T he new stability pact was approved by the European Parliament with 367 votes in favour, 161 against and 69 abstentions, but if only Italy had decided it would never have passed. A bipartisan abstentionism brought together the Italian MEPs, forming a strange majorityfrom Fratelli d’Italia to the Lega and Forza Italia up to the Pd.
