arlos Tavares announces an electric and zero-impact future by 2038 for the Stellantis group. On the occasion of the presentation, which took place on March 1, of the industrial plan called Dare Forward 2030, the CEO of the mega group born from the merger between FCA and PSA focused attention on the fight against climate change, revealing how sales will be from 2030 to 100 % electric in Europe and 50% in the United States. This will be possible thanks to over 75 Bev (Battery Electric Vehicle) models and five million zero-emission vehicles sold by the end of the decade.

Among the 75 electric cars there will be the new compact electric Jeep, announced on the occasion of the industrial plan and the first zero-emission model produced by the US brand. In the name of globalization, however, the probable B Suv, positioned under the Renegade and expected in 2023, will be built in Poland at the Tichy plant on a Cmp Multi Energy base (the same that gives way to Peugeot 208, 2008, Opel Mokka and Corsa and their electrical variants).

The electric baby Jeep, together with the new Ram 1500 Bev pick-up arriving in 2024, were the only two new models unveiled on the occasion of the industrial plan, leaving a certain disappointment for those who expected more detail on the future models of the 14 brands. wallet.

What is certain is how all brands in Europe will only sell electric models, given the goal of reaching 100% zero-emission sales from 2030. It will start with Maserati in 2024, the year from which the Trident brand will present exclusively new battery models. Translated? After the long-awaited Grecale, making its official debut by the end of March in combination with the hybrid and subsequently also electric engines, Maserati will present the new zero-emission GranTurismo and GranCabrio Folgore. In fact, the initials Folgore will unite all the battery-powered models of the Modena-based manufacturer, a range that will expand with the electric MC20 and the future Quattroporte most likely without pistons. As reported in the slide published during the presentation, Maserati will say goodbye to thermal and hybrid engines by the end of the decade to meet the need to sell 100% of Bev (Battery electric vehicle) models. The same fate for the premium brands of Stellantis – Alfa Romeo, DS and Lancia – also destined to sell only new electric models starting from 2025 and then have 100% zero-emission sales by 2030. The common goal is to quadruple Bev’s sales and multiply profits by five. For Lancia this is not a novelty but a confirmation of what was announced in the previous months; The new Lancia Ypsilon expected in 2024 will be built on Stellantis’ small car platform and will be the first to have a fully electric powertrain, as well as the last to adopt an internal combustion engine (a 48-volt mild hybrid) that will remain. on the market until the end of the decade. In 2026 it will be the time of the first Lancia-branded electric compact SUV, while the return of the Delta will have to wait until 2028. Moving on to Alfa Romeo, after the debut of Tonale the future compact electric SUV will arrive – most likely baptized Brenner – while not the fate of Giulia and Stelvio is still clear.
