TURIN. Mike Manley leaves Stellantis. The manager in charge of operations in North America, the man who led Fiat Chrysler after Sergio Marchionne passed away and accompanied it towards the merger with PSA, will become CEO of AutoNation Inc, the largest American auto dealer. The change at the top starts on 1 November. Mark Stewart (Chief Operating Officer, North America) and Antonio Filosa (Chief Operating Officer, South America), members of the Executive Committee, will henceforth report directly to Carlos Tavares.

«I was lucky enough to meet Mike first as a competitor, then as a partner and colleague in the creation of Stellantis, but – above all – always as a friend. Since the early days of our discussions, we have shared a truly common vision, conviction and commitment and it is on these solid foundations, built over the past few years, that Stellantis has achieved its first impressive results – says the CEO – . So, although I am personally sorry to no longer have Mike as a colleague, I am also pleased with his new role as CEO and happy that he joins the Board of Directors of the Stellantis Foundation ».

According to Mike Manley, “After 20 incredible, challenging and fun years, and with Stellantis starting really strong under Carlos’ guidance, it’s time for me to start a new chapter. Working with Carlos to create this amazing company, with the constant support of our shareholders, has been a tremendous privilege both professionally and personally. I am very proud of our teams at Stellantis who are doing an excellent job and I wish them and Carlos every success in continuing their amazing journey. Finally, I am very honored to have been invited to join the Board of Directors of the Stellantis Foundation ».

John Elkann added: “I want to thank Mike for everything he has done with us over the past 20 years. The years spent driving Jeep were fundamental for the transformation of the brand and then, as CEO of FCA, he led the company to achieve record results in one of the most difficult periods in its history. Working closely with Carlos, he was instrumental in the creation and successful launch of Stellantis. We wish him the best in his new role ».
