Stock exchange in Asia falls at the start of trading

The Japanese stock market trended weaker on Wednesday. In Tokyo, the Nikkei index, which includes 225 values, fell 0.2 percent to 38,404.45 points. The broader Topix was 0.6 percent lower at 2,681.54 points. The Shanghai Stock Exchange gained 1.1 percent to 3,041.08 positions. The index of major companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen rose 0.6 percent to 3,532.80 points.
