MILANO – The growing tension in the Red Sea, which resulted in tonight’s attacks on the bases of the Houthi militiamen in Yemen, is also being felt on the European economy. Tesla announced it will suspend most production for two weeks at its European factory near Berlin due to shortages of spare parts caused by lengthening shipping routes due to attacks in the Red Sea.
“The significant increase in transportation times creates a gap in supply chains,” Tesla said in a statement. Production will be suspended, ‘with the exception of certain subsectors’, at the gigafactory located south-east of Berlin between January 29th and February 11th. ‘From February 12, production will resume at full speed, Tesla assured.
