Reuters Frankfurt, October 25-Research group JATO Dynamics said on Monday that TeslaTLSA.OThe Model 3 dominates the European car sales rankings in September, this is the first time that electric vehicles have taken the top spot in monthly sales.
JATO said that Tesla Model 3 registered 24,591 units, an increase of 58% year-on-year, followed by RenaultRENA.PAClio, Dacia Sandero and Volkswagen VOWG_p.DEThe Golf models.
In the field of battery electric vehicles, Tesla’s Model 3 and Y ranked first and second, and Volkswagen’s ID.3 ranked third.
“Part of the strong performance of Model 3 can be explained by Tesla’s intensive sales promotion at the end of the quarter,” JATO said.
“September has always been a strong month for this American manufacturer to register in Europe, accounting for an average of 68% of delivery in the third quarter since 2018.” (End)
