Tesla rival Rivian makes an unexpectedly high loss

Rivian’s net loss widened to $1.45 billion from $1.35 billion in the year-earlier quarter, due in part to factory retooling costs. The loss was $1.24 per share, wider than analysts’ expected loss of $1.17 per share, according to LSEG data.
