Grimm, the energy expert from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, and Schnitzer, an innovation specialist from the LMU Munich, have a warm dislike for each other. They both wanted to become the first female boss of the economists; Grimm had thought she had good chances and was considered the favorite by many insiders – then it turned out to be Schnitzer. “The mood in the council,” says one person in the know, “was never good.”
