The great managers tell their story at the Humanities Forum in Villa Tornaforte

We return to reasoning and reflecting on the economy and young people with some successful Cuneo entrepreneurs at the Ā«Humanities ForumĀ» in Villa Tornaforte, the series of appointments wanted by the publisher Nino Aragno in the historic home on the outskirts of Cuneo.

The goal is to offer the public a free cultural space for critical thinking, discussion and training. On Thursday at 5.30 pm it will be the turn of manager Silvia Merlo from Cuneo. You will talk about “Technological innovation, competitiveness and development of the territory” to illustrate the Merlo Group’s support for young people. Silvia Merlo is the CEO of the multinational of Cervasca (90% of production in the territory, over 90% of the turnover deriving from sales abroad), but also president of the non-profit foundation Ospedale Santa Croce and Carle and of the international energy giant Saipem.

Two university professors from the Campus of Management and Economics of the city will talk to her: Giuseppe Tardivo, honorary professor of Economics and Business Management, University of Turin, coordinator of the Research and Education Commission of the Crt Foundation, and Milena Viassone who is from the Cuneo Campus coordinator.

For some months Aragno has been organizing meetings in the villa of Madonna dell’Olmo: first on art, now on the economy, in this case looking at the unique characteristics of the province. In recent weeks there have been contributions from personalities of international level, such as Valerio De Molli of the Ambrosetti Forum (the famous closed-door event with two hundred world top managers, which for over 40 years has welcomed the main international exponents of the world on Lake Como political, academic, institutional, entrepreneurial).

The meetings with the “excellences of Cuneo” will continue in March with Domenico Monge, CEO of the homonymous company in Monasterolo di Savigliano, a pet-food giant, which exports to over one hundred countries around the world. And, again, Alberto Dalmasso and Gianmarco Genta, young entrepreneurs who will illustrate the brief and extraordinary experience of the (former) startup Satispay, based in Milan, but entirely Cuneo’s DNA. Also next month, the philosopher, academic and psychoanalyst Umberto Galimberti is expected at Villa Tornaforte, who will address the theme of “money in contemporary society”.

Nino Aragno himself is publishing a series of portraits of entrepreneurs, analyzes and data from companies in the province to better understand the “Cuneo model”, that is, an entirely local way of conceiving the world of production, the economy, the relationship with society. In a territory that in a few generations has gone from being marginal and poor to a widespread well-being recognized not only by data and technical analyzes.

Participation in the new appointments of the “Humanities Forum” is free, but places are still limited due to the Covid emergency. The super green pass and booking are mandatory, by writing to [email protected]
