Guala Closures, world leader in the production of special closures for spirits and wines, has obtained the “International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) Plus” certification which will allow the use of certified sustainable materials for the production of closures produced in the historic Spinetta Marengo factory in province of Alessandria. The group, which has already been involved in promoting sustainable development for ten years, will apply the same standard to other factories around the world.
The recognition, issued by Bureau Veritas – a leading company in inspection, compliance verification and certification services – allows Guala Closures to produce “Circular Packaging” and “Bio-Circular Packaging” closures, ie closures whose sustainability is certified thanks to a control system on the entire supply chain, from raw materials to final products.
ISCC Plus certification allows companies to monitor and demonstrate the quality of their products by checking the sustainability and traceability requirements along the entire production chain. A concrete commitment to support companies to act more responsibly and support the circular economy, promoting production that is attentive to the environmental and social, as well as economic, profile. The certification concerns all the closures produced at the Spinetta Marengo site, according to a mass balance approach, as long as they contain a part manufactured with ISCC Plus certified plastics declared in the audit report.
