A new center of excellence for training in the fashion sector finds a home in Novara. The initiative was presented this morning in Novara by Istituto Secoli, one of the important training centers in the fashion world, founded in Milan in 1934 and which has always been at the forefront in the elaboration of training methods for highly qualified technical figures. The Milanese school will open, starting from next October, a new office in what were the Officine Grafiche De Agostini. The choice of Novara is not accidental, as explained by the mayor of the city Alessandro Canelli: “Novara and the surrounding area are home to one of the most important industrial districts of fashion in Italy, a unique world where some leading brands in the sector have operational headquarters in which they design and produce their collections. As a local administration we care about the consolidation of this reality which today employs more than 1000 people and employs a direct and indirect induced estimated at 50,000 employees “.

The new school was born in close collaboration with the fashion companies operating in Novara: Gucci, Herno, IN.CO., Versace and Zamasport joined the project right from the start.

During the course of studies, visit and internal support days are organized in the company prototyping areas. At the end of the course, each company will select at least 3 students to be included in the workforce, thus guaranteeing excellent employment opportunities for the course participants. «For the first time in Italy – said Matteo Secoli, president of the institute – the world of training and companies in the fashion sector create a new training reality, designed for companies and built together with them. We are very proud to have been able to involve several very important realities in the Novara area, leaders in their reference markets, who immediately believed in this project and whose support is essential ». The “Fashion product prototype” course will be inaugurated next October and will be a 10-month full-time course, reserved, for the first year, for 20 newly graduated students or workers between the ages of 18 and 25. The training project will create qualified professionals who, at the end of their path, will already be able to pack the prototype, choosing the right processing in relation to the quality of the product required, to the different types of fabric, to the modeling and style, to the wearability. of the garment and the economy of the manufacturing steps. The courses will be paid for, but scholarships and funding are provided to support the participation of those who do not have great means, but want to invest in their training.
