The expectation on the markets is for the US inflation data in June which will be released this afternoon after the robust + 5% recorded in May on an annual basis. The Fed president, whose double intervention is expected in Congress on Wednesday and Thursday, should also speak of alarm and not only. The spotlights of the operators are also focused on the way of the season of the great quarterly in the USA: to lift the veil on their accounts today will be JpMorgan and Goldman Sachs.
The Asian sector benefited from the jump in Chinese exports, which grew by 32.2% in June, bringing the trade surplus to 51.53 billion, well over the 44.2 billion expected. Tokyo closed with a plus sign, with the Nikkei closing trading at + 0.52%.
Among currencies, theeuro opens slightly higher at 1.1864 dollars from 1.1852 yesterday. On the yen, the single currency changes hands at 130.89 while the dollar against the Asian currency is at 110.38. It still remains stable spread: the differential stands at 103.4 basis points, compared to 103.3 points yesterday, with the yield of the Italian ten-year at 0.73%.
Quotations of Petroleum on the rise in the morning: WTI crude oil is quoted at 74.26 dollars a barrel and marks an increase of 0.22% while Brent advanced by 0.19% to 75.30 dollars a barrel.
