A few weeks after his US trip, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in state visit to France, where he will meet French President Macron. Modi will also be the guest of honor of the parade on July 14tha French national holiday commemorating the storming of the Bastille.
The visit comes at a time when France and India are looking to deepen their cooperation in the area ofIndo-Pacific, and in the fields of defence, security and technology. In fact, the trip could be an opportunity to announce a commercial agreement which provides for the purchase by New Delhi of 26 Rafale fighter aircraft and three Scorpene submarinesall produced by French companies.
