Tortona, the green logistics hub “Development and recruitment” takes shape

“With this project we want to enter the Italian logistics market, benefiting from the skills of our partners in the area and bringing our know-how, gained thanks to the projects already active in Germany, Spain and Portugal”. So Andrea Menechini, senior project development manager of the German investment company Aquila Capital, after the start of the construction site of the Tortona green logistics park, the large logistics center designed along the provincial road to Sale, in the province of Alessandria, not too far from the lines railways and the A7 and A21 motorways, in a strategic position for connections to Genoa (73 km), Milan (75 km) and Turin (108 km). At the end of December the first pillar of a warehouse of over 51 thousand square meters was laid, to which a second building will be added at a later time, with the center which, once completed, will occupy a total area of 395 thousand square meters.

In line with the other Aquila Capital projects, the Alessandria site also follows rigorous standards of energy efficiency and sustainability, such as to limit Co2 emissions. The installation of latest generation photovoltaic systems, for example, will allow the structure to be – completely or largely – self-sufficient from an energy point of view. At the end of the works, the Breeam certification, one of the most accredited internationally, will therefore certify the degree of sustainability of the building.

The innovative warehouse is built in a multi-tenant perspective and will therefore be able to accommodate more tenants. The site also includes a state-of-the-art logistics space, the “BigBox”, built on the basis of the needs of tenants, which will be finished by the end of September 2022.

The site is created by the Italian branch of Gse, a player specializing in the “turnkey” design and construction of corporate properties.

“We are honored to have been chosen by Aquila Capital for their first realization in Italy – explains the country manager Valentino Chiarparin – for years together with Confluence we have been working to offer the territory and market operators a specialized service for the development of parks and buildings. state-of-the-art logistics “.
