For the second consecutive year, Italy has maintained, since the beginning of 2024, its position as Tunisia’s top supplier in terms of trade volume, despite a slight decline in its exports in the first two months of the current year. The Tunisian online media Webmanagercenter writes this, citing data from the Tunisian National Institute of Statistics (INS).
In detail, Italian exports to Tunisia reached, in value, approximately 411 million euros, between January and February 2024, down 12.8% compared to the same period last year. Despite this slight decline, Italy is still ahead of its competitors on the Tunisian market.
In the same period, Italian imports from Tunisia increased by 9.3%, reaching approximately 590 million euros.
Among the main products exported from Italy to Tunisia are energy raw materials, metals, textiles, leather, electrical equipment, plastics, engines, chemical and pharmaceutical products and machinery.
Tunisia exports to Italy articles of clothing and footwear, car components, oils and greases, engines, plastic items, chemicals, fertilizers, steel products and petroleum raw materials.
