Investing.com – U.S. equities were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , , and other sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in New York, it was down 1.94%, while the index was down 2.38% and the index was down 2.75%.
The best performers of the session were Home Depot Inc (NYSE: ), which rose 0.78% or 2.33 points to trade at 299.86 at the close. Meanwhile, UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: ) fell 0.83% or 4.10 points to end at 489.43; 3M Company (NYSE: ) lost 0.85% or 1.24 points to end at 144.18 in late trade.

The best performers in the S&P 500 were NXP (NASDAQ: ), up 4.04% to end at 184.22; Pool Corp. (NASDAQ: ) up 2.34% to end at 416.39; American Dollar General (NYSE: ) Up 1.70% to end at 237.71.
The worst-performing stock, Moderna Inc (NASDAQ: ), finally fell 9.76% to end at 134.04 in late trade; Carnival Cruise Line (NYSE: ) fell 9.28% to end at 11.73; in addition, Norwegian Cruise Line (NYSE: ) fell 9.17% to close at the close The price is 13.76.
The best performers on the Nasdaq Composite were Hongqiao High-Tech Co Ltd (NASDAQ: ), up 189.86% to end at 1.12; Nextplay Technologies Inc (NASDAQ: ) up 93.43% to 0.35; DBV Technologies (NASDAQ: ) rose 79.56% to trade at 3.25.

As for the rest of the futures, the July delivery WTI crude oil futures contract fell 0.70% (0.86 points) to trade at $121.25, while the August London Brent crude futures contract fell 0.61% (0.75) to trade at $122.83.
EUR/USD was down 0.91% at 1.06, while USD/JPY was up 0.14% at 134.43.
U.S. dollar index futures were up 0.76% at 103.32.
