Unique United: What’s behind Louis Kleemeyer’s startup

Louis Kleemeyer was not satisfied with the situation for people with disabilities – and therefore decided to start a platform for appropriate offers.

The 23-year-old founder Louis Kleemeyer, who has a learning disability, tells his story like this: In 2020, he was laid off due to the corona pandemic and had to look for a job. However, he hardly found any offers suitable for him. But instead of coming to terms with the situation, his path led him to his own startup.

Kleemeyer came up with the idea for Unique United. Behind this is an online platform for barrier-free offers and products. Supported by Karen Schallert and his father Marco Kleemeyer, his idea became a concrete project designed to support people with disabilities – developed by people with disabilities.

The offer is aimed at associations, educational institutions, companies and clubs and is intended to enable them to present barrier-free offers and products. Unique United aims to offer different options in the areas of jobs, training, sports, entertainment and travel.

After Unique United’s first test run in 2022 and feedback from people with disabilities in 2023, Kleemeyer and his team now want to make the offer known – certainly one of the reasons for appearing on the high-reach TV show. Her vision is that companies recognize the reason for inclusion and independently approach the team to spread the offers on the platform. However, Kleemeyer has not yet provided any figures on the offer or users.

This Monday the team can be seen at the Vox startup show. Kleemeyer has so far held 100 percent of his startup. In order to further develop the platform nationally and to acquire new cooperation partners, Kleemeyer says he needs 210,000 euros. In return, he offers the lions 35 percent of the company shares.
