United States: consumer confidence still declining in February, inflation fears weigh

New decline in consumer confidence in the United States. In the preliminary reading in February, the index that measures consumer confidence, drawn up by the University of Michigan, stood at 61.7 points, compared to the previous survey of 67.2 points. The market was expecting a figure of 67.5 points. Growing concerns about rising consumer prices weigh on US consumer sentiment, with inflation accelerating further to 7.5% yoy in January, its highest level since 1982.
