In April, the US durable goods orders figure rose by 0.4%, less than the + 0.6% expected. The previous month’s figure was revised down to + 0.6% from the + 1.1% previously disclosed.

The core component, excluding orders from the former defense sector, formerly the aviation sector, rose by 0.3%, less than the estimated + 0.5%. The previous month’s figure was also revised downwards in this case, to + 1.1% from the 1.3% previously disclosed.

Excluding the transport component, the trend was also in this case a growth of 0.3%, against the + 0.6% expected, with the previous figure revised down to + 1.2% from +1.4 % announced last month.
