USA: claims for unemployment benefits at 268,000 units, more than expected but at the lowest since March

In the week ending November 13, the number of American workers applying for the first time for unemployment benefits fell slightly by 1,000 from the previous 269,000 to 268,000. The figure stood at a higher than expected level, equal to 260,000 units, however confirming its lowest level since March 14th, when it stood at 256,000 units. The four-week moving average stood at 272,750 units, the lowest level since March 14, 2020.
