Vittorio Sgarbi candidate with FdI in the European elections
Vittorio Sgarbi will be a candidate with Fratelli d’Italia in the European elections. “I signed the acceptance of the candidacy, now I’m going to understand which constituency has been chosen for me”, he commented. “I spoke with all the party leaders, with Meloni, with Donzelli, with La Russa, and I signed”. “LThe desire to nominate me was made by the FdI leaders (Meloni, Donzelli and La Russa) with whom I spoke and to whom I gave my availability”, then explained Sgarbi, who will run for the European elections almost three months after his resignation as undersecretary of Culture, which took place on 9 February after an interview with the prime minister at Palazzo Chigi.
Sagrbi: “We had been talking to Meloni for some time”
In those days, in the midst of controversy over his consultancy and after the Antitrust resolution which defined his activities as “incompatible” with the role of government, the art critic did not rule out a candidacy for the European elections. “We had been talking with Meloni for some time, then we talked about it with Donzelli in April and we started again in this final phase of the applications”, underlined Sgarbi.
Sgarbi: “I got 100 thousand votes at the 1999 European elections”
“It was born like this, since I am free and have a number of recognizable votes. At the 1999 European elections I got 100 thousand in the North East, almost like Berlusconi.
