Former US President and current presidential candidate Donald Trump caused a stir with statements about a “bloodbath” if he were defeated in the election. He made the remark as he announced at a campaign event how he would make it more difficult for Chinese cars to be sold in the US market.
China is building several huge factories in Mexico and ultimately wants to sell the cars produced there in the USA, said the Republican on Saturday (local time) in Vandalia, Ohio. Trump warned China’s leader Xi Jinping: “We’re going to put a 100 percent tariff on every single car that comes across the border, and you won’t be able to sell those cars if I’m elected.” He then said: “If I am not elected there will be a bloodbath. (…) It will be a bloodbath for the country.”
