The glimmers of peace curb speculation on wheat and corn prices, which reverse the trend and abruptly fall to the lowest levels of the war month. This is what emerges from Coldiretti’s analysis of trends at the Chicago Board of Trade, a world reference for agricultural raw materials during the negotiations in Turkey. A trend driven by expectations on the achievement of an agreement between Russia and Ukraine, which control approximately 28% of world sales of soft wheat for bread making, 16% of the trade in corn destined for animal feed on farms.
At the opening, the most active wheat futures contract fell to $ 9.76 per bushel (27.2 kilos) after exceeding $ 13.6 per bushel in a month of war while corn was quoted 7 , $ 17 after hitting $ 7.8 per bushel at its top in 10 years.
