Wild boar alarm, Coldiretti brings farmers in front of Montecitorio

by admin

The alarm for the invasion of wild boars in Italy has never been so high, which with the Covid emergency have found a free field in rural and urban spaces, pushing ever closer to homes and schools up to parks and even lakes, in the midst of bathers. It is not the first time that agricultural organizations have asked for containment interventions but for the first time Coldiretti has decided to bring the request to the streets with a garrison tomorrow morning in Montecitorio and mobilizations in all Italian regions. In past years, estimates of damage caused by wild animals destroying crops, besieging fields and causing road accidents with deaths and injuries had been quantified at several hundred million but the numbers are likely to be higher. Ettore Prandini, the president of Coldiretti, explains: “The goal is to denounce, even with demonstrative actions, a national emergency that is causing the abandonment of internal areas, social, economic and environmental problems”. The presence of various representatives of the institutions is announced at the demonstrations to whom the agricultural organization will deliver a dossier where, alongside the risk analysis, concrete proposals will also be presented to ensure the survival of farms and the tranquility of citizens.
