In view of May 1st, the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, today summoned the trade unions to Palazzo Chigi. The opportunity is to illustrate to them the next measures being studied by the executive on wages and employment. The labor market is recording positive numbers, with an increase in employed people, but women and young people are lagging behind.
Super deduction
At the table we will talk about the super deduction on hiring provided for by the first module of the tax reform. In fact, the interministerial decree, Economy-Labour, is ready. The measure provides for a deductible portion of the labor cost of 120%. An increase of 130% is foreseen for young people, women and individuals who are already beneficiaries of citizenship income. It applies to all businesses, regardless of corporate form, and to self-employed workers. In the April Def, the government predicted that this new form of incentive for stable work, which replaced some hiring incentives of the past which expired in December, could affect around 380 thousand companies.
Cohesion Decree
Another topic on the agenda is the Cohesion decree, on which Minister Raffaele Fitto is involved, which, barring last-minute surprises, should be examined by the Council of Ministers the following day, Tuesday, and which provides for a strong push on work. On the table there are 43 billion of the 2021-27 programming to be allocated to employment, social and business support policies. And not just regional: with national co-financing the funds available reach 74 billion.
Wedge cut and mothers bonus
Prime Minister Meloni should confirm to the unions the continuation of the cut to the tax-contribution wedge (in the strengthened form up to 7 points less, in force until December) and on the bonus for working mothers (for those with two children the tax relief is only valid for this year).
Christmas bonus up to 100 euros
We will also talk about support for low-income families. In the latest version described on our website, we think about a Christmas bonus of up to 100 euros for single-income households, i.e. with an employee with incomes of up to 28 thousand euros and at least one dependent child.
