According to data released by the Zambian Statistics Agency, Zambia’s economy shows good growth in 2023, equal to 5.8%, a slight increase compared to 5.2% in 2022.

Chola Daka, head of the Zambian statistics agency, told the local press, in a press conference held in recent days, that the information and communication industry recorded the highest positive growth, contributing with 2, 7% to overall growth. However, the agriculture, forestry and fishing sectors had a negative impact, decreasing by 0.6%. Daka also said the economy grew 8% in the fourth quarter of 2023, marking a significant increase from the 4.6% growth recorded in the same period in 2022.
