An Aerolíneas Argentinas pilot was flying over Córdoba, on the last leg of the journey from Buenos Aires, when a green laser was pointed at his eyes from a neighborhood in the City.
The flight departed this Tuesday around 10 p.m. from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery bound for Ambrosio Taravella Airport, in the city of Córdoba. The pilot “PegasusA4″, as it is called on social networks, shared on the Instagram and X platforms a video recorded by his partner demonstrating the fact.
With more than 65,000 followers on Instagram, the pilot introduces himself as “Hunter Pilot, A-4 AR Fightinghawk Argentine Air Force Driver 🇦🇷. Currently Captain of Boeing 737 NG/MAX. Glider pilot. Flight instructor”.
His colleague, when recording the video from the cabin, managed to cover the laser light and avoid contact with his eyes. “Another chapter in people’s stupidity, pointing a laser pointer at our eyes while we are on final approach. “This happened to me yesterday in the city of Córdoba,” declared the pilot of flight 1530, adding “I don’t quite understand the funny thing.”
In the recording you can see how the light flickers in the distance, pointing directly at the cabin. Social media users tried to geolocate the incident, a task that was made difficult by the illusion of openness caused by a power outage from the area where the perpetrator was lighting.
The followers of the captain of the Boeing 737 NG/MAX commented in the publication their repudiation of the fact. On the social network
In dialogue with ElDoce.tv, the Argentine Air Navigation Company, the authority that implements the planning and administration of air traffic – among other tasks -, declared that it had not received any complaints.
The head of Eana in the Córdoba jurisdiction, Marcelo Maranzano, stated: “we did not have any reports of pilots being bothered by lasers. “I understand that some flights at Aeroparque were affected by lasers.” Maranzano analyzed what appears in the video as “an event.”
