Recently, AMBUSH® released the 2022 autumn and winter series show in Milan. This season, from the sets to the accessories, the entire collection reveals the opposing energies of the real and imagined worlds. When Yoon builds the AMBUSH® metaverse, she has the opposite in her mind, the people who wear the clothes she designs and what they actually want. The digital world needs to be rooted in reality to feel convincing, and this season a giant sphere in the middle of the show was used as a symbol for a space travel ship.
Despite the new runway format, the Fall/Winter 2022 collection took the same instinctual approach as previous seasons, still starting with the designer’s signature elongated silhouette.
This season’s AMBUSH® outerwear takes on new extremes: hard-edged leather outerwear, including cropped biker jackets, black and maroon blazers, with shearling sleeves and necklines for a ’70s feel. AMBUSH® jewelry has a distinctly extraterrestrial cosmic element. Silver and brass bracelets are reminiscent of fluid rings around planets, while rings and earrings undulate and twist like black holes.
