At the foot of the Campanon, treasure hunt, in search of the Liber Catenae

by admin

“Who stole the Liber Catenae?”. Among the suggestions of the new edition of “Books in Nice” there is the particular literary treasure hunt, conceived together with the L’Erca cultural academy, to help people and tourists discover the history of the city.

Everything starts from a precise episode: we are in 1300, it turns out that the «Liber Catenae» has disappeared. Where will the precious book of the Statutes of the Municipality of Nicaea Palearum or “della Paglia”, the ancient toponym used to indicate the Municipality of Nice which collects the codes from the 13th to the 18th century, ended up? Who took it away? And above all why?

«A journey back in time to tell the story of the foundation of the city and the most important figures like the Podestà – says Elisa Piana, creator of the texts together with Beatrice Pero – figures that take you back to the Middle Ages that you may happen to meet in the streets of the center ».

The appointment is for Sunday 14 November starting at 10 under the Campanon, young and old can participate, alone or in small groups with staggered departures. The first stop is in the boardroom, all the others will be reached by solving quizzes and riddles along the way. No bits of paper, all super-technological with “QrCode”, Alessandra Pero took care of the original illustrations.

There is another peculiarity: the students of the Pellati institute will be involved (former school-work alternation project) who will receive the registrations, will guide the participants. Royal prizes and “symbolic investitures” are up for grabs.

Books in Nice

The event is part of the “Libri In Nizza” calendar, the review that this year becomes itinerant and spreads over four weeks.

“We have thought of a widespread formula – explains the president Fulvio Gatti – the new places that we will explore in addition to the forum will be the cellar in Nice, the Salone Bersano in piazza della Stazione, the library of the Nostra Signora delle Grazie institute”.

The guests

The popular writer and philosopher Michela Marzano will inaugurate the exhibition tomorrow (at 6 pm, she will talk with Roberta Bellesini from her latest book “Stirpe e vergogna”, Rizzoli) and Diego de Silva, the father of the series of novels of the melancholic lawyer, who will soon become a fiction on the small screen.

The new title “The minimums of melancholy” (Einaudi editions) at 9 pm, a reading in which De Silva (narrator) will be joined by Aldo Vigorito (double bass) and Stefano Giuliano (saxophone). The special guest on Sunday will instead, throughout the day, be Walter Lazzarin, the “writer on the street” who, with his very particular literary invective and the inevitable typewriter, will bring passersby closer to the world of fiction. –
