Billie Eilish Scores Two Grammy Awards for “What Was I Made For?”
After her recent triumph at the 2024 Grammy Awards, Billie Eilish opened up about the personal challenges she faced before creating the award-winning track “What Was I Made For?”. The song, which was part of the Barbie movie soundtrack, earned Eilish and her brother Finneas, the Song of the Year award and Best Song Written for a Visual Medium.
Eilish admitted that she struggled creatively before being given the opportunity to compose for Barbie. She described a time of uncertainty and self-doubt, feeling as though she and her brother were unable to produce meaningful music. However, she revealed that being approached by Greta Gerwig, the director of Barbie, became the “creative spark” they needed to reignite their passion for their work.
