The Qingming Festival movie market has once again exploded, breaking the historical box office record for the same period. According to Maoyan Professional Edition data, the box office has reached an impressive 855 million yuan, surpassing the previous record of 822 million yuan set during the Qingming Festival holiday in 2021.
Leading the charge is the film “What Kind of Life Do You Want to Live”, which has raked in nearly 400 million yuan at the box office. Following closely behind are “Godzilla vs. Kong: Rise of an Empire” and “Kung Fu Panda 4”, claiming the second and third spots on the box office list. Japanese animation maestro Hayao Miyazaki’s latest film became a massive hit during the Qingming Festival, drawing audiences with its deep connection to Chinese culture and anti-war themes.
