“Hui Yinghong and Liu Haocun Shine in Heartwarming Movie ‘Brilliant Her’ Showcasing Grandparents’ Love for Grandchildren”
On March 15, director Xu Wei, along with leading actors Hui Yinghong and Liu Haocun, made an appearance at a post-screening event in Hangzhou to connect with fans of their latest movie, “Brilliant Her”.
The film tells the poignant story of a granddaughter (played by Liu Haocun) reuniting with her grandmother (played by Hui Yinghong) after twelve years of separation. Despite the initial walls put up by the granddaughter due to past pain, a beautiful bond is forged between the two generations, showcasing the enduring power of love.
Throughout the movie, numerous heartwarming moments capture the selfless love of grandparents for their grandchildren. From fulfilling the granddaughter’s artistic aspirations to ensuring she has well-fitting clothes, the grandma’s unwavering dedication is truly touching.
Director Xu Wei shared, “When I first saw this script, I was deeply moved and wanted to film this emotion so that more people can see it.” The authenticity of the movie is further emphasized by Hui Yinghong’s commitment to aging naturally for her role, refusing to wear a wig and opting to dye her hair white instead.
As audience members shared their own touching stories of their relationships with their grandmothers, actor Liu Haocun emphasized the importance of cherishing fond memories and finding happiness in the little things.
