Zero kilometer products, but also an excursion and theatrical entertainment: the appointment with the “Mercato della Terra al Ricetto”, scheduled for today in Candelo, is full of initiatives. From 10 am to 6 pm, among the rue of the ancient village it will be possible to shop at the stalls of local agricultural producers, who will be able to meet consumers directly and answer questions, requests and curiosities, making known the production processes, the characteristics of their products and the best combinations. In this appointment the agri-food proposals range from wine to grappa, from honey to jams, up to cheeses. There will be seasonal fruit and vegetables, aromatic plants, artisanal sweets, flours, cured meats and farm products.
Designed following the guidelines that inspire the Slow Food philosophy, these markets are spaces in which local producers present their quality products directly to consumers, guaranteeing sustainable production methods and preserving the food culture of the local communities they help to defend. biodiversity. These are markets reserved for selected producers, in particular small farmers and artisanal producers, who find it more difficult to deal with the large-scale distribution circuit.
Today’s appointment also includes, from 3 pm, a theatrical entertainment by Storie di Piazza, which will present «The Renaissance Market» with atmospheric scenes of the time, which rediscover ancient crafts, stories and traditions. There will be the vinaio, who tells the sixteenth-century story of Ricetto, the cheese shops, the vegetable seller, the furrier, the little women in search of love and luck traveling on the Turkish bandwagon, but also little girls who have fun with ancient games by repeating the nursery rhyme dedicated to Sebastiano Ferrero.
