Celebration and Reflection: The Oude Waag 24 Autumn/Winter Series

The latest fashion series from OUDE WAAG, titled “24 autumn and winter,” explores the themes of celebration, war, social environment, and technology. The collection presents a juxtaposition of men’s tailoring techniques and evening dresses, with a focus on using gorgeous fabrics to create celebration clothing. The use of bleached and distressed fabrics reflects the evolution of color in fireworks, symbolizing romance, ephemerality, and war.

The series features earthy brown tones, military green elements, and distressed fabrics to convey the intertwining of celebration and reflection on war. The collection includes asymmetrical knits, silk blooms, spandex skirts, and distressed jackets, combining classic menswear elements with feminine silhouettes. The climax of the celebration is represented by a cupro printed dress inspired by flying fireworks, symbolizing hope for the future and female power.

The show was styled by Liu Xiao at ODD STUDIO, with show direction by Wen Qingyoupo at MÖBIUS HUB. The collection was praised for its innovative use of fabrics and tailoring techniques, blending elegance with strength and warmth. As the fashion industry continues to evolve, OUDE WAAG remains dedicated to creating optimistic and empowering designs for the future.
