In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, actor Chris Hemsworth revealed his disappointment after being rejected by director Kevin Costner for a much-desired role in an upcoming film project. Despite his efforts to convince Costner, the director had already cast himself in the lead role of the film, which Hemsworth described as “abstract and interesting” with a focus on the complex relationship between a man and a woman, involving horses.
Hemsworth, known for his role as Thor in the Marvel Studios films, shared his excitement about the role of a horse tamer in Costner’s film, which resonated with his and his wife Elsa Pataky’s love for horses. However, despite spending an hour trying to convince Costner to give him the role, the director ultimately chose to play the character himself.
Costner, in the same interview, confirmed his decision to take on the lead role, stating that as long as he feels physically capable, he prefers to play the character himself. He praised Hemsworth’s talent but suggested that the actor find his own love story to star in.
While Hemsworth may have missed out on this particular role, he remains open to exploring new opportunities in Hollywood. Currently recognized for his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Netflix films, Hemsworth will soon be seen in the upcoming film “Furiosa” alongside Anya Taylor Joy.
On the other hand, Kevin Costner’s focus is on his current project, the western film series titled “Horizon.” The first two films have been completed, with the world premiere of the first film set to take place at the Cannes Film Festival.
