Cuban Actress Maité Galbán Cueto Arrives in the United States Under Family Reunification Program
Cuban actress Maité Galbán Cueto has arrived in the United States under the family reunification program. The news was announced by actress Lily Bergues and the Cubaactores page through a live broadcast on Instagram.
Galbán Cueto arrived in Miami a few days ago through family reunification, but it was not until today that she made her arrival public through the reception of Lily. The actress gained popularity in Cuba with the soap opera “Tan Far y tan cerca” in the character of Dr. Danay. The drama was set in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The soap opera, directed by Alberto Luberta Martínez and Loysis Inclán, had a significant impact on Galbán’s professional life. In an interview with Cubadebate, she confessed, “I was seduced by her passion and the story full of conflicts with her father. To this role I gave many real things that I felt at that moment. I offered my heart to him.”
Bergues clarified during the live on Instagram that, although Galbán had an important acting job in Cuba in recent times, her entire family was in the United States, and that is why the actress decided to undertake this new stage in her life accompanied by her family.
“I’m here, happy, with my family,” said Galbán Cueto excitedly, and thanked the Cuban actors’ page for the support.
Before leaving Cuba, she had also ventured into cinema with the film “A Night with the Rolling Stone,” directed by Patricia Ramos, in which she plays the character of “Cleo.” Regarding this character, the actress expressed her excitement for the premiere of the film at the last edition of the Havana Film Festival. For her part, the director commented in several interviews that what led to selecting Galbán Cueto for the role of Cleo was the chemistry she had with Lola Amores, the film’s protagonist.
