White Sox invite TOP Cuban prospect to Spring Training

The Chicago White Sox are making their invitations for Spring Training, and one of the players invited is Cuban prospect catcher Edgar Quero. Quero, who was part of a trade that brought him to the White Sox from the Angels, has a chance to earn a place in the MLB roster. The organization recently lost Yasmani Grandal but acquired Martin Maldonado, and Quero will be competing for a position as a backup catcher. He has three full seasons in the branches and finished last season in Double-A, where he hit 6 HRs and drove in 57 runs.

According to sources, Quero has been invited to Spring Training and is ranked as the third best prospect in the White Sox organization. He was also listed as the #81 best prospect in all of baseball as of 2023. It is expected that Quero could potentially start in Triple-A and work his way up to the MLB, but a strong showing in Spring Training could give him the opportunity to begin the season in the big leagues.
