Dedicating a year to the environment and assistance: here are the proposals for a year to the civil service

There is archival work among the documents of the 60s and 70s to “protect linguistic minorities”, the commitment to libraries, museums and tourist offices throughout the province, the monitoring of the pollution of rivers and lakes , assistance and support for kindergarten children, elderly people in retirement homes, frail adolescents. The possibilities offered by the universal civil service, or voluntary work paid for one year for those aged between 18 and 28, are many. The new call has just been published: it expires on January 26, applications are presented only online and with the spid and the projects will start by June after the 80 hours of training managed by the Province.

In these 22 months of pandemic activities have been modified or migrated to the web and remotely, but they have never stopped. For the projects of public bodies, associations and consortia, the Province has been responsible for 19 years, coordinating the initiatives of 64 realities for 150 places. An opportunity that often represents a unique way to learn about the activities and commitment of public bodies or associations. The list of projects is very long. For example, for the Environment sector there are 14 places ranging from monitoring and prevention of pollution of rivers and lakes – a project of the Province, it is called “Focus Water” – but also 6 places at Cras di Bernezzo, the wild animal recovery center, in addition to the initiatives for the protection of nature at the Gesso and Stura river park.

In the Assistance sector 4 places for the initiative of La Collina degli Elfi di Govone (assistance to minors in conditions of discomfort), but also the proposals of some socio-assistance consortia and the animation and assistance services in retirement homes from Barge to Boves . Many are the projects of the Asl Cn2, including the one for the identification of information and communication strategies relating to anti-Covid vaccination.

The cultural sector gives the opportunity to engage in the libraries of the “seven sisters”, Marene, Borgo, Cavallermaggiore, Ceva, Dogliani, Manta, Ormea, Villafalletto, opportunities in museums (Casa Cavassa in Saluzzo, Traversa and Craveri in Bra, civic Cuneo, Filatoio Rosso di Caraglio foundation) and cultural animations at the social theater of Alba or at the musical institute of Savigliano. Finally, the enhancement of local history and events in the smaller towns, from Cortemilia to Vernante to Chiusa Pesio. They explain from the Province: «The projects are very complex for the Assistance sector, with all the precautions related to the pandemic. For now there are no projects in the Youth sector: there are no national funding and in the past they were in great demand in the area, from the entertainment centers of Fossano and Bra to the various Youth Information Centers ».

The reimbursement of expenses is 444 euros per month. For the past two years, there have been 25 hours per week. There are also various bodies that do not belong to the Province but to national tenders, from Caritas to Pope John XXIII. The Red Cross has a record number of places: 239 in 32 provincial offices (19 places in Racconigi, 17 in Mondovì, 12 in Cuneo, 10 in Centallo, Monesiglio, Moretta, Morozzo and Peveragno).
