“The Beijing opera “Four Generations Under One Roof” is a rap ditty with Beijing accent and Beijing flavor. It has a unique rhythm and is a fusion of drama, opera, and stage play. In just two hours, it took me back to the Xiaoyangquan Hutong during the Anti-Japanese War and the fall of Peking. In an era when the nation was in danger and the country was suffering, we experienced a historical awakening.”

“The structure and evolution of the opera version of “Four Generations Under One Roof” have become quite dramatic. The arias are cleverly embedded in the story without making people feel obtrusive, making the form of opera easy to be accepted by laymen. Accompaniment by folk orchestra It’s just right, the erhu, sanxian and bamboo flute played live complement each other, giving people a unique feeling that is different from the music soundtrack of the drama.”
