Disney+ to Relaunch with ESPN and Star+ Content Integration
Disney+ has confirmed its relaunch with the inclusion of ESPN and Star+ content, marking a significant change for users in Latin America. Previously, subscribers had to independently contract Star Plus to access adult content from The Walt Disney Company, as well as live sports events from ESPN.
However, starting on June 26, 2024, Disney+ will expand its offering by adding general entertainment content from Star+ and sports from ESPN, all accessible through a single platform. The content will be divided into sections to cater to different age groups, ensuring appropriate viewing experiences for all audiences.
Additionally, Disney+ will introduce new parental controls, allowing subscribers to create PIN-protected profiles and set access limits based on content ratings. Children’s profiles, known as “Junior Mode,” will offer a simplified interface with only age-appropriate content.
In terms of subscription plans, Disney+ will offer Premium, Standard, and Standard with ads options. Pricing details and specific content offerings for each plan are yet to be announced, but the company is expected to release further information in the coming weeks.
