After sitting on the couch for a long time, Niels Destadsbader (35) seems to be gradually being launched at the VRT. He announced on Wednesday evening that his music program ‘I ask it’ will get a second season.

He did this with a video message on social media, a few hours before the final episode of season 1 aired. Eva De Roo, Wesley Sonck and his musical partner in crime Miguel Wiels, among others, were treated to a live performance of a song that is close to their hearts. They also always explain why.
For Destadsbader I ask meant a small baptism of fire. It was his first solo program at VRT since switching from VTM in 2021. The first episode attracted just over 819,000 live viewers at the end of January, and the figures remained good across the board. Whether this means that his exclusivity contract will also be extended remains to be seen.
The presenter thanks everyone in the video “for watching with so many people, because this is thanks to you.” He immediately throws in another appeal.
