Anna Piaggi was in many ways a forerunner, for example with her love for vintage, which today we would define second hand, a market in constant and fast growth. A selection of dresses from the Anna Piaggi Cultural Association, in collaboration with the Sozzani Foundation of Milan, are exhibited in the headquarters of the Foundation itself, in conjunction with the exhibition “Anna Piaggi: illustrations by Karl Lagerfeld”, dedicated to the illustrations signed by the stylist with the subject who, as he himself said in 1986, “invents fashion … when she dresses she automatically does what we will do
tomorrow”. The same clothes will be on sale on the Vestiaire Collective reselling platform and the proceeds will go to support the cultural programs of the Sozzani Foundation and the Anna Piaggi Cultural Association.
Anna Piaggi’s passion for vintage, who passed away in 2012, dates back to her meeting with
fashion historian Vern Lambert, in London in 1967. Lambert owned a stall at Chelsea Antique Market where he sold clothes by Elsa Schiaparelli, Gabrielle
Chanel, Callot Soeurs, Haute Couture, hand-made dresses and ethnic clothing, all gathered together. A crucial meeting to give life to Anna Piaggi’s peculiar wardrobe.
From January 20 to February 27. From Thursday to Sunday, 12.30 – 19.30
