The 2024 Emmy Awards were held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, six months after the nominations were announced by the American Television Academy. The awards honored the best in the production of series, miniseries, TV movies, reality shows, and other variety programs broadcast between June 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023.
Originally scheduled for Monday, September 18, the ceremony was postponed due to the Hollywood industry’s strikes. The live broadcast on TNT and HBO Max was hosted by comedian Anthony Anderson and saw Succession and The Bear as the big winners, each taking home six statuettes. The miniseries Bronca also had a strong showing, winning five awards.
The full list of winners included Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, and Matthew Macfadyen from Succession, Jennifer Coolidge from The White Lotus, and Nick Offerman and Anna Torv from The Last of Us. Succession’s Jesse Armstrong and Mark Mylod were also honored with awards, as well as The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, and Sam Richardson from Ted Lasso.
Other winners included Quinta Brunson for Abbott Elementary, Judith Light for Poker Face, Steven Yeun and Ali Wong for Bronca, Paul Walter Hauser for Locked with the Devil, and Niecy Nash-Betts for Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
As for variety programs, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium were among the winners.
The 2024 Emmy Awards celebrated the outstanding achievements in television production and showcased the talents and hard work of the industry’s finest.
