Designer Gerrit Jacob Unveils “MADE IN HEAVEN” Collection at Berlin Fashion Week
Renowned designer Gerrit Jacob made waves at the Intervention event of Berlin Fashion Week with the debut of his latest collection, titled “MADE IN HEAVEN”. This Fall/Winter 24 collection is a tribute to the tumultuous and formative years of adolescence, capturing the essence of teenage identity and the transition into adulthood.
Drawing inspiration from the eclectic and contradictory elements found in teenagers’ bedrooms, each piece in the “MADE IN HEAVEN” series tells a unique story, reflecting the confusion, excitement, and nostalgia of adolescence. Gerrit Jacob skillfully merges the innocence of childhood with the growing awareness of adulthood, creating a collection that resonates with viewers on a deeply personal level.
The collection pays homage to the photography series of Jeff Koons and Cicciolina of the 1990s, as well as the nostalgic style of Supermarket novels. Gerrit Jacob’s “MADE IN HEAVEN” also incorporates visual cues from Rico Scagliola & Michael Meiers’ Neue Menschen book, as well as the unique perspective and rugged beauty of artists Lauren Halsey and Craig Boagey.
With “MADE IN HEAVEN”, Gerrit Jacob has once again proven his talent for creating fashion that is both thought-provoking and visually stunning. The collection offers a fresh and innovative take on the fashion industry, taking viewers on a unique and evocative journey through the trials and triumphs of adolescence.
