Fai, the conference that intertwines history with nature

The FAI Sicily regional management, chaired by Giuseppe Taibi, will participate, together with the Delegations, Groups and young people of the FAI, in the 25th national conference of the Italian Environment Fund, scheduled for today.

The conference entitled “Fund for the Italian Environment: for which environment? The FAI’s commitment to the environment in this global crisis: a cultural vision that sees Nature and History inextricably intertwined “, with the aim of shining the spotlight on FAI’s new challenges for the environment at this time of global crisis. The conference was opened by Maria Cristina Messa, Minister of University and Research and there will be speeches by Marco Magnifico, FAI Executive Vice President of the Italian Environment Fund and Andrea Carandini, FAI President, Daniela Bruno, FAI Deputy Director General for Affairs Cultural. The conclusions are entrusted to Dario Franceschini, Minister of Culture.

For two centuries a cultural vision has spread that separates Nature from History, Science from Culture, Environment from Man. Recomposing Nature and History in the unity of the Environment – the human Environment – is the prerequisite of a new cultural project of civilization, which assigns to Man the role no longer of destroyer, but of co-inhabitant of the Planet together with other species. . The FAI cannot fail to contribute to the project which is based, even before action, on the education of a single multi-disciplinary culture, which embraces the natural and human sciences, both necessary to the cultured man of the past as to the citizen of today to understand the world around him and face the reality and challenges of the future. The conference, therefore, aims to tell Italians about the new FAI objectives for the environment, but also to photograph the situation today. From the history of Leonardo to the present day, it will therefore be an opportunity to trace the path of man and nature.
