MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Rapper Diddy’s home on Miami Beach’s exclusive Star Island was one of three properties owned by the music mogul raided by federal agents on Monday, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the matter.
Federal agents also searched the star’s home in Los Angeles as part of a federal human trafficking investigation led by prosecutors in the Southern District of New York.
It remains unclear if Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, was the target of the investigation. A spokesperson for the US Department of Homeland Security stated, “Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York has conducted law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners.”
Video footage showed officers from Homeland Security Investigations at the scene on Monday afternoon. While the investigation has been ongoing for several months, sources indicate that an arrest is not believed to be imminent.
A representative for Combs did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The rapper has faced accusations of sex trafficking and sexual assault in lawsuits filed by multiple women, as well as a lawsuit from a man accusing him of sexual assault.
Douglas Wigdor, a lawyer for two of the accusers, expressed support for law enforcement’s efforts in holding those who violate the law accountable. Combs has denied any wrongdoing, stating, “I did not do any of the horrible things that are alleged.”
Combs, also known as Puff Daddy, is a prominent figure in the hip-hop industry, having founded Bad Boy Records and collaborated with numerous A-list artists over the years.
