From best practices to sustainability: “Art at the center” returns

by admin

Good practices, sustainable production, relationship between man and the environment, circular economy, effects of the pandemic: these are the themes of the exhibitions of “Arte al centro”, an event organized by Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto which, since its first edition, aims to promote , through language and artistic approach, a responsible transformation of society. The inauguration will be tomorrow with a visit to the exhibitions from 11 to 20. Some of these will be presented and explored in the afternoon.

From 3 pm to 5 pm, in the Semi Urbani space, the performer and choreographer Matteo Marchesi will present the open studio «Corpi in full», which recounts the experience proposed this summer, together with the dancer and clown Federica Tardito and the visual artist Annalisa Zegna, as part of the «Fluviale» event. The Cervo stream, with its topography, its floods and folk tales that I see as the protagonist, was the subject of a workshop, which involved eight girls and boys between the ages of 15 and 20.

Also between 3 and 5 pm, the «Re-wearing» workshop will be offered for the little ones. Participants are invited to bring their own item of clothing to be renewed in an imaginative way (booking: [email protected]).

The Love Difference room, in the Terzo Paradiso space in via Cernaia, will host «All the fault of mirror neurons» at 4.30 pm: the artist Laura Pugno and the curator Andrea Lerda will comment on the video work «Over Time». The project, which in 2020 won the 9th edition of the Italia Council (the international promotion program of Italian art of the Ministry of Culture), investigates the relationship between human beings and the natural environment, focusing on snow. A changeable and labile substance, but capable of preserving the memory of the world, it is matter with a mysterious charm, which seems to symbolize the transitory nature of the human journey on Earth.

At 5.30 pm in the same space the performance «Freedom» by Silvia Giovanardi, one of the four fashion designers protagonists of «Circulart 2021 – Art interwoven in the supply chain» will be proposed. The project brings together textile companies, artists and fashion designers to create new forms of language capable of inspiring change in the name of sustainability.

At the end of the day, the “Minimum Prize” will be awarded at 6 pm in the Tettoia space and, at 7.30 pm in the Sala Cervo, the concert of the ensemble “C @ n’t tell it”, directed by Andrea Cappelleri and composed of some elements of the Orchestra of the students of the “Cantelli” Conservatory of Novara. Two compositions selected from the Simc (Italian Society of Contemporary Music) call for proposals will be presented, inspired by the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri, the sustainable development goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the themes of the “Third Paradise”.
